A journey Continues Update#003

Hello and Happy New Years for those that celebrated!

We have several updates we have made this week. We updated to Godot version 4.2.1 in hopes to resolve the Mac error that was occurring with the web browser. Unfortunately the fix does not seem to be working. The Godot maintainers are aware of the issue and seem to be working towards a fix with their changes, and we will continue to keep an eye on the situation.

Next we are working on populating the world with a few NPC characters. Pain&Suffering is currently working on the concept art, and the basic animations for a couple of them. If all goes well we hope to introduce the first of many NPC characters in next weeks update. For now we have included block people to keep Clover company and make the world seem more alive.

Finally we made some behind the scene changes (for now) and gave clover a double jump and a dash state. These are not meant to be initially available in the first few levels, but we want to get a feel for the level design and how the player will move around the world. In the next update we will be adding some levels specifically for testing out the feel of these two mechanics.  We are so sorry that they are not enable at this time as the levels are not designed for them, and releasing them for these levels would not be as reflective as we would like.

Goals for next update:

  • First NPC reveal - Will likely be a black and white sketch with a idle animation
  • Coyote Jumping - We want to improve the experience when jumping near edges
  • Over world Overhaul - This will be a multi step process but we want a better looking over world

This Update:

  • More NPC Blocks with dialogue the player can interact with.
  • Update to version 4.2.1
  • Behind the scenes
    • Clover now has a double jump
    • Clover now has a dash state

Thank you for supporting us!
