Update from the Team

Happy New Years River Dwellers

We hope that everyone is have a great start to their new year! In this months update we want to call out that we are moving towards controller focused design. Since Clover will be primarily designed to be played with a controller we are updating the input layout. For keyboard players we will add in support to remap controls, but that will be a later update. We apologize for any issues this causes as we transition to various controller supports.

Also `Paina&Suffering` really hates that `Fortunes` decided to use the waking up animation for the crouch frame. They have added it to the list of artwork that needs to be done as it makes them really sad. In their words, "The animation makes them viscerally upset like the norovirus they had just gotten over."

Game Updates

    Added

    • Backpack Menu
      • Abilities when unlocked apear here
      • Player can equip different abilities as needed
      • Button to equip the ability will also be used to activate the ability
      • Passive abilities do not require activation
    • Ability Manager (Code side of things)
      • The player will ony be able to equip a certain number of abilities at a time
      • Abilities that can be activated can be done so using their bound buttons.
    • Life Tracker
      • The amount of small resets the player can make before being returned to their last save point
      • Clover pieces added that the player can collect to increase their life bar
    • New State - Crouching
      • Clover can now crouch and crawl around.
      • While crouching the player can pass through some platforms with the jump key

    • Ghost Kit Dialogue
    • Save Manager
      • Settings can now be saved
    • Jumping
      • Clover now has variable jump height.
    • Animations
      • Clovers Idle animation got some touching up
      • Clovers sleeping and standing up animation have been added.

    Broke

    • Animation Player
      • While holding the joystick at a certain angle the player can use the incorrect sprites for different animations
