Update from the Team

Hello River Dwellers

We hope everyone is having a cool summer, and is able to find some water where they are at to fend off the heat. If you are in the southern hemisphere I hope your winter is going well, and you are staying warm. This month we have some more big game updates! The biggest update comes in the form of audio, which was commissioned from TinCanAudio. You can find a link to their site and works below. Please check them out if you have some time!

Unfortunately due to life getting in the way we don't have any updates regarding animations and artwork. Due to recent events Pain&Suffering needed to push back on their work load, but they have recently started picking up on their backlog, and are doing an amazing job at preparing the animations. There were some sketches done, but they aren't quite ready to be shown off.

This next month Fortunes has some big plans to reconstruct the character controller, and plans to bring in several abilities with the rework. The demo likely wont have each ability, but we want to make sure the demo does give a good feeling for what the game play will be like. With that said there are a few more big updates planned for the demo, which probably translates to 2-3 months, and then we will look into private play tests for the alpha version of Clover. This means we are doing much more with world build, and character design behind the scenes that we can not show at this time.

Game Updates

    • Music
      • We commissioned audio from TinCanAudio and we think they did an amazing job.

        Check out them out on their site at TinCanAudio.co.uk

      • Currently a bug if you change seasons while in water causing constant fade.
    • Options/Settings
      • The player can set the volume in the options menu.
      • The player can mute the volume in the options menu.
    • Day/Night Cycles
      • The sky changes color depending on the time of day.
      • This value will be used for a future implementation.

    Updated

    • Abilities
      • Created ability template and unlock mechanism.
    • Wall Kick
      • Locked behind collecting 6 charms.
      • After collecting 6 charms a certain NPC will now drop the wall kick ability.
    • Collectable Charms
      • Charms are now persistent and do not re spawn when moving more than 2 rooms away.
      • Added in more variation to the charms.
      • The final charm formats and style have not been finalized yet so expect them to change.
    • UI
      • Polished the UI to be a bit cleaner and easier on the eyes.

    Broke

    • Thankfully nothing that we know of.

    Known Bugs

    • Rooms completely reset when moving more than 2 rooms away
      • This includes box positions, and dialogues.
