Pigeon News: Event Placeholders for all Acts!

Hello Pigeon People!

We hope you are all doing well! We have a major update this week as we have made some amazing progress on Pigeon Coup! We realize having place holders in place may not seem exciting, but it gives us a starting point to start balancing the rewards for various events. There is only a little bit of core game logic we still need to add, but we are happy to be at the stage where we can start to look at balancing the rewards and pacing of the game.  We realize this is going to probably be the hardest part to get a good balance, and to continue to polish the game as well as write out the stories for events, but again we look forward to this phase as it is very exciting to us!

Game Updates

• All acts have placeholder events and rewards so we can start to investigate balance and pacing!
• When ending a turn if a bird has not been assigned the player will receive a number of resources based on the unused birds stats.
• Birds stats have been balanced to a reasonable starting point
• Story controller refactor now properly handles new game and continued game logic
• More Pigeon Artwork has been worked on (but not yet added to the game as we want to write the stories that go with them)
• The 3D panorama has been removed as it just didn't feel right for the game
  • the future plan is to have a static 2d background that changes with each act

With this update we feel we have made quite a large step in where we are in making this game.  Future updates will likely be small since the core of the game is complete for the most part. With that said as people play Pigeon Coup we look forward to the various feedback people will be giving us!

Other News: Solar Eclipse this week!

With the solar eclipse this week and our monthly team building exercise we expect to not get as much work done on development. We also hope everyone has a safe viewing experience of the solar eclipse. Please DO NOT look directly at the eclipse without proper eye protection because doing so can cause eye damage that is not immediately apparent. Have an exciting Solar Event!
